The Hirer is responsible for the bike and equipment and will be liable for any loss or damage during the period of hire. You need to check and sign that you are happy with the condition of the bike before we hire it to you.

Payment. This is due at the commencement of hire or point of booking. Cash or card only.

Cancellation. We are only able to process any cancellations refunds 48 hours prior to the day. Any cancellation after this time will be charged at 100%. In certain circumstances, we may be able to move your booking to a later date – solely at our discretion.

Positive Identification confirming a permanent address will be required from each hirer, Photo ID will be required for each MTB. Only a Photo Drivers licence or Passport with proof of address is accepted. Loss and damage deposit – £200 per bike is required before hire, refundable on return. The hirer will be required to pay in full for any loss or damage which may be over the security deposit.

Loss and Damage of Electric Bikes. The motor for the bike is contained in the housing around the bottom bracket. It is therefore liable to damage if the bike is ridden over drops, through rocky sections or up a large step up (including high curbs). The bike should never be ridden through deep water at any time. The cost to replace the motor is £700 and the hirer will be required to pay in full for any damage.

Security. Bikes are not to be left unattended at any time. Bikes must be locked to a fixed object securing the frame and wheels. If you don’t have a lock, you can hire one from us.

Appropriate Use. The bikes are to be ridden in the Surrey Hills area only. They must not be taken out of this area, or to bike parks. If you are unsure of where the bikes can be ridden, please ask a member of staff.

Late returns. You will be charged at £10 per 15 minutes after the allotted return time.

E-Bikes. The hire bikes are Specialized Levo or Levo SL’s. Due to stock levels, the model may vary.

Helmets. You must wear a helmet at all times whilst riding. If you do not have your own helmet, you can hire one.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. A parent or guardian will need to sign for the responsibility of the bike.

Questions. If you have any questions please ask the staff on hand. They are there to help and advise you. If you are unsure of anything on the bike please ask before you set off.

Disclaimer. Cycling off-road is relatively safe but obviously has inherent hazards associated and accidents can happen. Hurtwood Inn staff take all necessary precautions to try and ensure the safety of participants. Hirers should familiarise themselves with the hazards and attempt to minimise risk as much as possible. The management accepts no liability whatsoever for any loss or injury whilst riding Hurtwood Inn hired bikes. Hirers agree that individuals participate at their own risk.
